Nick McLaughlin

 
 

Nick McLaughlin joined the firm in 2021 as an associate, Nick focuses primarily on real estate and corporate matters, working with a wide array of clients, including real estate holding and management companies, developers, startups, small businesses, and individual home purchasers. Since joining the firm, Nick has successfully closed over a hundred million dollars of business and real estate transactions in Ithaca and in multiple states across the country. His experience includes: (1) the purchase, sale, financing, and leasing of commercial properties and businesses; (2) financing and securities work in connection with private placement offerings; and (3) entity structuring and governance.

Nick is attentive to detail, highly disciplined, and responsive, which allows him to ensure that even the most complex transactions close on a timeline most beneficial to his clients. Nick’s straightforward and direct communication is appreciated by clients and colleagues. Having started his legal career in litigation, Nick works closely with clients to ensure that the agreements they enter into sufficiently protect them from any litigation risks. Nick assists many of his clients with various legal issues that arise in their day-to-day operations.

Prior to joining the firm, Nick worked as a commercial litigator, predominantly in real estate and construction, at a real estate firm in Boston. While in law school, Nick interned at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and Suffolk Superior Court. Prior to law school, Nick worked as a paralegal at a small family law and criminal law firm.

Nick grew up in Avon, MA and currently lives in Northeast neighborhood of Ithaca with his family. Nick arrived in Ithaca in 2020 when his wife joined the ILR School at Cornell.
